I love bistros in Paris. They carry this authentic ambiance, serve affordable authentic dishes, have grumpy pretty waitresses and a vivid atmosphere.

If you want to experience one, head to Café L’industrie just around the corner of Bastille.  It’s the place where people drop by for an unplanned meal, a drink after work or a get together with friends.

Waiting for your order while the ones who came after you got served, or being seated at a table with only a couple of inches between yours and your neighbors are part of the game.

You are not here for the extraordinary food, neither for a quiet atmosphere or a friendly service. It’s more the unpretentious atmosphere you are coming for; watching frenchies get lightly drunk, chatter out loud and sopping their breads in their food while smacking their mouth. A real local restaurant.
