The Richard gallery presents On the Roof in Paris, a personal exhibition of Bram Bogart. The title refers to a series of photographs by Harry Schunk and Janos Kender, representing Bram Bogart and Léni leaving their paintings drying on the roof of their Parisian studio in 1959.
The exhibition focuses on the Parisian years of the artist, during the 1950s and displays very rare works, as well as a selection of small and medium size works of the following years in order to show a large part of Bogart’s artistic career. All the paintings directly come from the studio of the artist, who left us in june 2011 in Belgium.

The Richard Gallery had already organized the first French personal retrospective of Bogart, in 2011, while also showing the artist’s works in its New York space alongside Ron Gorchov and Takesada Matsutani, two other major artists who, in the 1960s have constantly experienced the tridimensionality of painting.
